BRAD SELLICK

Name: Brad Sellick
Car Make: Cadillac
Car Model: Coupe Deville
Year: 1961

Profile:

I have been involved in cars since a young age, through my Dad working on cars and he owned a panel-beating shop. I started work in the panel shop after school when I was 13 and then took on an apprenticeship after finishing grade 10.

I worked there for 15 years as a panel beater and then a spray painter. Our shop used to do a lot of restoration work on a variety of old cars and we had a reputation of being the best in the area.

I myself used to build my own cars and had a few GT falcons that I built and then sold on.

Fast forward about 15 years, a few more cars, a family, two home renovations, buying and running a sandblasting business... And now I'm into American cars, owning the Gold '61 Cadillac I have built over the past three years.

It has recently been featured in the Street Machine Hotrod Annual and Cruzin Magazine. We also have a '63 Pontiac Laurentian and a '62 Studebaker Lark wagon, a 1950 Oldsmobile currently under restoration and a 1936 Chev Sloper waiting to be turned into a hotrod. Must be crazy, I know!

We have also been involved with motorbikes having had a couple of Harley's and British vintage bikes, being bought and customised then sold on. We currently have a 2004 Triumph speed triple and a restored 1969 Honda and I am also restoring a 1955 Vespa scooter at the moment.

We are proud to be involved with Turtle Wax and thank them for their support. Turtle Wax has been around for all my working life, having used many of their products in the past. This current crop of new products - the Platinum Series and the new ICE range seem really good to me. I have used these on the Cadillac and on my bikes. They are easy to use and offer a really good depth of gloss. The ICE range is absolutely brilliant on the motorbikes as it dissolves the bugs and gives a great shine on the paint and plastic.

I will be attending a variety of Car Shows in Queensland this coming year in the Cadillac, so I hope to catch up, if you see me come up and say hello!
